NSDS Policies & Procedures
General Studio Policies
- Correct shoes and dance attire are expected at every class. This enables the student can access full body movements for correct form and technique.
- Required dance shoes and dress code apparel must be purchased from Next Step. See Dress Code under member section on our website, for correct dance apparel needed for each class.
- Hair should be pulled back in a ponytail or bun.
- Dance shoes should only be worn inside the studio.
- Street shoes are not permitted on the dance floor.
- In-studio classes could transition to virtual classes based on state/local health department recommendations.
- Friends (not registered dancers) cannot attend classes or wait in the lobby.
- Dancers should not arrive any earlier than 10 minutes before their class starts.
- Absolutely NO alcohol is allowed on the premises (in the studio, outside or parking lot) of Next Step Dance Studio.
- There are no class make-ups. Exception: when class is cancelled by Next Step Dance Studio due to weather or another emergency. The make-up must be scheduled through the Next Step office at 414-421-7666. Makeups must be in the same class level and completed within two weeks of the cancelled class. If you do not attend your scheduled make up, your make up will be forfeited.
- Next Step is not responsible for lack of enrollment due to inclement weather.
- For studio closings please check your email, tune into FOX6, or view our Facebook & Instagram.
- We will sometimes send out important communication via text message to account that opt-in.
- Company and recreational dancers and parents have read the Next Step Dance Company Information & Guidelines and understand the commitment and accept these terms.
Payment Policies
- Our studio requires families to make payments by credit card or bank draft. We accept MasterCard and Visa credit cards.
- For Sept-June session, in studio classes – Monthly fees include recital costume, digital download of the recital, & recital tights.
- Class fees do not include shoes, required dress code apparel or TS dancers-intro starter kit .
- For Sept-June in studio classes – Correct dance shoes and dance apparel are required and must be purchased from NSDS. See Dress Code under member section on our website, for correct dance apparel needed for each class.
- For Sept-June session – A non-refundable $50 registration per dancer. Dancers enrolling after December 31, add $110 non-refundable costume fee per dance payable at time of registration.
- Dancer will not perform in the recital until the June 1 payment is received and all other fees are paid in full.
- Tuition remains the same whether it is a long or short lesson month.
- Registration fee and first month’s tuition will be posted to your account upon enrollment. No registration fee charged for summer classes.
- You will be sent an email confirming enrollment along with instructions on how to log into our customer portal.
- Fees will be deducted from the account designated upon registration and thereafter on the 1st of every month (except mini/summer session is paid in full).
- Our studio does not send out monthly statements.
- Co./Crew class charges are outlined in the Guidelines & Commitments.
- All fees are non-refundable., non-transferable between dancers, and not credited due to missed or dropped classes.
- Unpaid students will not be permitted to participate in classes or activities, including dance recital.
- A $35 fee will be assessed for all returned payments.
- A $10 fee will assessed for all declined payments.
- $10 will be added per dancer, to balances when payments are received more than 5 days after the due date.
- An additional $10 per dancer will be added each month until the account is current.
- If it is necessary to drop a class, 30 days written notice (and payment) is required. If a dancer drops a class after January 1st, a $25 costume restocking fee will be charged for each dropped class.
- Costumes may need alterations at dancers expense.
Photo, Video & AI-Assisted Content Release
By enrolling, I grant NSDS permission to photograph and/or record my student for promotional purposes, including social media, websites, advertising, and other marketing materials. NSDS may use secure, business-grade AI-assisted tools to edit or create promotional content using media for which permission has been granted.
Media participation is optional and is not required for enrollment. Families who do not wish to grant this permission may request a Media Opt-Out Form by contacting the NSDS Front Desk. Once completed, NSDS will note the student’s account and will not intentionally use identifiable photos or videos of that student in NSDS-created promotional materials.
Liability
As the legal parent or guardian, I release and hold harmless Next Step Dance Studio, its owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and /or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises under the control and supervision of Next Step Dance Studio, its owners and operators or in route to or from any of said premises.
The undersigned gives permission to Next Step Dance Studio, its owners, and operators to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are not able to reach a parent or guardian. I hereby declare any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or conditions and/or declare the participant to be in good physical and mental health. If you request that your doctor/physician be called and that your child be transported to your hospital please provide the front desk with all contact information.
